Display of 5th grade Fantasy Narrative Journey Postcards

5th grade students were reading stories around the theme of journey.
Students interpreted and analyzed Francisco de Goya’s painting Winter Scene, and Max Beckmann painting Departure, (central panel), to explore how artist communicated the theme journey.
Students than planned and created narrative drawings that expressed the theme journey.
Drawings were postcard size.
Students then wrote to other 5th graders on the back of drawings, and sent to other 5th grade classrooms about their journey to front side image.
