King of the World The White Horse Sacrifice
Hello
King of the World, The White Horse Sacrifice is a horizontal 6 Ft. H x 6 Ft. Wide triptych narrative painting that I created from November 11 1999, to July 7, 2007.
The idea for this painting came to me years ago when I read Roberto Calasso’s book Ka. Section VII tells the story of the ancient Indian story of the Horse Sacrifice. The king that has preformed and celebrates the yearlong ceremony becomes king of all kings.
Characters’ moving through the scene is an old narrative painting tradition in many cultures.
Thank you for spending time with the King of the World, The White Horse Sacrifice.
