A Leinden, South Holland, Netherlands chemistry professor, J.C. Barchusen in 1718 had a set of engravings made based on earlier manuscripts drawings of what he thought described the process of the Philosopher’s Stone in the best order and with the correct emphasis. These etching are known as the Elementa Chemicae.
This is my artwork based on those engravings.
Special thanks to Tim Lee for making this artwork possible, Jim Bauer for constructing Elementa Chemicae for me, and Pete Le Kousis for the great photos.
